Terms of Service
Welcome to Shaded Grain Crafts. By using our 145 Pennsylvania Avenue facility or renting our equipment, you're agreeing to the rules laid out below. We've kept it as simple as possible because we'd rather be woodworking too.
1. Workshop Safety & Liability
Woodworking involves sharp objects and fast-moving parts. It's inherently dangerous. By entering our shop, you acknowledge that we're not liable for injuries resulting from normal tool use or failure to follow safety protocols. Are you prepared to take responsibility for your hands?
- Mandatory eye protection at all times in the hot zone.
- No loose clothing or dangling jewelry near the lathes or table saws.
- Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited before or during shop use.
2. Tool Rental & Damage
We're proud of our gear. When you rent from Shaded Grain Crafts, you're taking temporary custody of high-grade equipment. We'll check the tool's condition at checkout and again upon return. If you bring back a biscuit joiner with a snapped blade, you'll be charged for the part. If the motor is burnt out due to misuse? You'll owe us the cost of repair.
3. Project Storage
Our shop is big, but it's not infinite. We can't store your projects forever. Items left for more than 14 days without a storage agreement will be dismantled, recycled, or put in our "free scrap" bin. Don't let your hard work end up as someone else's kindling.
4. Billing and Refunds
Workshop fees are due at the time of booking. Rental fees are calculated per day. Late returns on tools will incur a 1.5x daily fee penalty. Why? Because the next person is waiting for that planer.
